A new way to use sand to create mandalas for mindfulness, self-expression, and cultural enrichment.
The Personal Sand Mandala Kit is a tactile, relaxing art experience for you to use on your own or with family and friends. Use it to reduce stress, practice mindfulness, and help combat isolation through a shared experience. There’s no pressure to “get it right” or to have a particular outcome.

The intent is for this kit to be used with adults and teens in a mindful process, which requires a level of maturity. However, our materials are safe (but watch out for the pointy stick!), our instructions are easy and accessible, so yes, a child could do the activity and make a picture. In the future we may create additional children's activity kits.
The focus of this kit is on mindfulness, using sand art painting techniques that have been developed for self-expression. Each component of our kit has been curated to be the best available for its purpose. We have tested every sand art activity kit on the market and none compare to the quality of materials in ours. Here are some reasons why:
While the process of using sand is soothing, and most sand art kits are fun to use, our art sand is the perfect texture - not too coarse, not too fine or powdery. Our colors are rich and natural-looking, and the colors won’t “bleed” onto your fingers. The sparkle you see is naturally occuring, not added by glitter. And, we include a full ounce of each color of art sand, giving you plenty to work with so that you don’t run out of your favorites.
Our artist-grade mandala canvases are sturdy and frameable, while most others are lightweight and hard to work with. The adhesive we use holds the sand well, while others may dry out and do not allow for the advanced techniques we show you to achieve amazing designs.
Our sand art kits are made of materials sourced in the USA, not overseas. Doesn’t it make sense to use materials that are locally sourced and known to be safe?
Sand art painting makes the process of creativity fun and is adaptable to each person’s ability level. Special needs teachers tell us they like our sand art painting for the tactile feel, the vivid colors, and the fact that it’s not wet or messy. The rhythm of the process – peel, pour, spread – is soothing.
Not really. There is no wet glue involved, asthe mandala canvases are self adhesive). There will of course be extra sand on your work surface which can be easily brushed away or swept up. The sand colors might get mixed up. Our sand art painting instructions explain how to carefully pour back each color into a cup to prevent mixing, however some mixed sand is bound to happen during the creation process. Even sand art experts sometimes get so focused on the design, they forget to clean up each color. If mixed up art sand gets created, simply keep the mix in a separate cup for later use. You can also purposely create multi-color art sand by stirring colors together in a mix that you like. However, this uses up the art sand more quickly.
While we do include pre-cut outlines in our mandala design canvas, the basic design is just the beginning. By learning the advanced techniques we include in every kit, each person can find a way to express their own creativity even if they start with the same basic design. Take a look at our videos and photos to see examples. All of them were done using the same simple design!
